Florence Nightingale Day!
Year 2 pupils at Skyswood were able to bring their history topic to life through their incredible Florence Nightingale Day.
The day was filled with exciting activities, many of which involved role plays, Victorian crafts or activities that captured the lives of soldiers, nurses, cooks and gardeners back in the time of the Crimean War. The children made a superb effort in dressing up and applying themselves to all elements of new learning, using their imagination to explore what the Scutari Hospital may have been like and the impact that Florence Nightingale had on the well-being of the soldiers.
Six stations were set in the morning, and a big thank you must go to our wonderful parent helpers, who supported the children with their learning at each station. Well done to all of our children, it was a tremendous day for enriching learning and we were delighted with their exceptional level of engagement throughout the day._large.png)
