Skyswood become Herts County Champions!

Our school football team were thrilled to become Herts County 7-a-side champions for small schools following an exciting final (against Miss Branagan’s school from Welwyn).

The final went to penalties after Baxter scored an outstanding goal from a direct free-kick to ensure a 1-1 draw and a nailbiting end to the tournament. Skyswood performed superbly in the group stages, winning all three matches against Aston, St Mary’s, St ippolyts and St Thomas More, before coming up against Aston, St Mary’s again in the final.

The Pokemon National Primary Schools Cup is the biggest primary schools football competition across the UK. Skyswood will now go forward to compete in the South-East Finals in March, with the hope that they might win through to the national finals and emulate fellow AET members, Garden Fields who had the privilege of playing at Wembley last year!
